I honestly really like this place. I went in there to get boba and some of the amazing bread rolls! They put the butter in the bread and its melted and delicious! I really like the chicken strip and french fry combo. The customer service is very welcoming and the shorter cashier is always very helpful when i had questions about the menu. And the guy who helps is always friendly as well. Ive never had bad customer service when i went there and lets just say i enjoy my fare share of chicken n rolls. I read some of the other rude reviews and i have to disagree! The service there is awesome and family like ! Definitely recommend going here :) As far as the negative reviews below vv Its about the service and the food! Which is both great! If u want to talk about the color of someones hair go review the barber shop next door

Dinner roll is very bland and salty. Chicken is very hard and bland. There isn't much to say anything positive.

Chicken and Roll is my favorite spot to eat at when I am in the San Gabriel Valley area. Just a small drive to the 605 freeway and were there. The chicken strips combo is the best. AMAZING CHICKEN -FRIES -MASHED POTATOES -DINNER ROLLS And not to mention all of the amazing sauces to choose from!!! I recommend to try one of Each! Not to mention, but it's CHEAP too!!

I stumbled across this place because it is just down the street from my home. The parking was pretty cluttered because it has to share a very small lot with other businesses. When I first walked in I was greeted by an Asian man with a very thick accent. I believe he is also the owner/manager by the way he was talking to the other employees. The business also has some Asian influence because they also sell Boba and other Asian drinks. This place is apparently a branch of Donahoo's Chicken which looks like some famous fried chicken place that I have never heard of.. haha. None the less, I proceeded to order their family special that was advertised on their window. The family special had 6 pieces of fried chicken, 6 pieces of chicken tenders, 2 large sides, and medium order of steak cut fries, and 4 dinner rolls. Ordering was prompted and I waited about 10 minutes for my food. Total was about $24 They fry their chicken when you order so it was nice and fresh when I received it. Food: Fried Chicken- very moist and flavorful. I do wished they use meatier pieces of chicken instead of the skinny birds they fry. The breading was filled with tasty spices which elevated the flavor of the chicken. Chicken Tenders - I wish there was more breading on these. They are very light tenders that could use a bit more crisp. I'd stick to their fried chicken. Dinner rolls - these things are huge.. about 2 times larger than an average dinner roll. They are also inject butter in the middle of these. Very fluffy on the inside but a bit tough on the outside. I just open them and peel the bread from the skin. Fries - Just average, nothing special Overall, pretty good fried chicken. This hole in the wall establishment that claims to be just as good as Donahoo's is good eats. Now I just got to try to the real Donahoo's to see what's better. 4 stars

Want the best fried chicken in the area? Go here! It's crispy, moist, and not greasy or too salty. It's perfect. Their mash and cole slaw are like KFC, pretty good. Their steak fries are huge, their dinner rolls are even more huge. They serve boba to boot. It's located in the seedier part of town, away from the hustle and bustle in the industrial area. Service is like any other fast food place. The place is made for to-go, not much to look at. At the end, food is king! KFC doesn't hold up here. Thumbs up! But as always, let me know what you think.

I was in search of tasty chicken strips and came across this place on yelp. 4 stars seemed pretty good to me so I drove over to check it out. All the signage of boasting to be the best chicken strips in town only further rose my expectations. I ordered the 6 strip combo, with fries and mashed potatoes. The chicken was somewhat burnt and super bland. I mean little to no seasoning, the hot sauce made it bearable but not even close to the best of anything. The roll, as other yelpers said, was pretty good. It's sweet and buttery, and HUGE! The fries were....well fries lol they were under seasoned as well. By the time I got through all of that, I had no room for the mash, so I can't tell you how that was. But overall, my expectations were not met by a long shot, EVERYTHING here is decent at best. I feel tricked by all the propaganda.

I found this place randomly while in La Puente and on the outside of the small restaurant, there is a posting stating that this is a smaller chain for their bigger restaurant in Pomona called Donahoo's Golden Chicken that I have yet to go to, but have heard great things, so I was hoping the quality carried over the hype....but I think I fucked up cause I didn't order fried chicken. I actually saw chicken gizzard which made my mouth watery, so I ordered that. I believe you can get an order of 6, 12, or 16 pieces. I forgot the total I paid for, it was definitely less than $10, but I got the 12 pieces of gizzard, with a choice of two sides, a biscuit and a drink. They loaded up my box with a lot of gizzards, way more than 12, hooked up. But the reason why I said I probably fucked up was, I was expecting the gizzard to be sort of like the grilled ones, just with fried batter. Then again, the meat probably isn't meant to be in a fryer for a long time. The texture was sort of tough, still decent, but after a couple of pieces I got overwhelmed by it. Next time if I stop by here again, I am just going to try the fried chicken, besides the gizzards being mediocre, the service here was really great.

If I could give the place a negative review, I would. was craving chicken gizzards and this was the closest place that offered it. I ordered the 16 piece gizzard combo for take out. I was greeted by a friendly guy however the short chick was a bit of a snot. She marched on by me carrying whatever frozen food that was about to be fried and shot me a bitchy look. She didn't even say hi or smile or what have you, just told me how much my order cost and grabbed my card. Another customer came in and was talking to her and she was basically rolling her eyes at him. Awesome. So that's the service. Should have been a warning sign! The roll that my gizzards was served with was absolutely disgusting. Very yeasty. And the gizzards were over cooked and tasted like old frying oil.

The food is good! The employees not so much. I mean I understand it's an entry level job, but you need to hire more enthusiastic people. The cashier did not smile or make any type of eye contact, she acted as if she was annoyed that I was here. I don't know her name but she is short and has long dyed blonde hair. But anyways I didn't come here for the customer service, the food is what helps bring me back.

First time trying this place as it was recommended to be by a friend. I ordered a chicken strip combo. The first thing I noticed is that the food was cooked to order so it took about 10min for me to get my order. The chicken strips were just ok to me they were Juicy and cooked well but they lacked flavor to me. The fries were really good more like home fries instead of french fries. The best part of my meal were the rolls they were huge and fluffy and had butter instead of them. One roll can be split between two people. Over all my meal was good. I will be back for the fries and rolls without a doubt. I will even give the chicken another try. I say try this place

Went here because I was craving fried chicken and didn't want the chain stuff. Got the 8-piece fried chicken combo with mashed potatoes and gravy and then the 12-piece chicken livers. The wait was about 15 minutes. The fried chicken was piping hot and juicy when I got home. Except it lacked seasoning. Yes, it was crispy, but it lacked flavor and seasoning. The chicken itself was juicy, yes, but was very bland. As for the dinner roll, you do get huge rolls with butter inside. But again, this did not hit the spot. It was really tough even though they were warm. I had to bite down and then pull away to chew a piece. The chicken livers were alright. They were a bit on the gamey side in terms of taste. Gritty would probably be a great way to describe it. Not really sure how it has high ratings. I'm just being honest with what I ordered and what I tasted. Even my mom, who isn't picky, said that the chicken wasn't seasoned and was bland. Didn't even finish her piece of chicken. We ended up with a bunch of pieces of leftover fried chicken.

My chicken's gone All that's left are some crumbs of gold And remembrances of strips I did hold And those crumbs of gold And the memories of the crispy skin And the memories of juicy chicken You took me out of long car drives down to Donahoo's Same delicious recipes you do use How can I refuse The combos with strips, drumsticks, and thighs And the yeasty rolls that I do prize But you take it one step further than your mother ship restaurant You've given customers the sauces they want These dips you should flaunt And the best sauce was the sweet chili And your house sauce was so good to me Your cole slaw topped with raisins was a delicious creamy side But we didn't like the sogginess of your shoestring fries They should be twice fried But that's one miss in your repertoire And as a meal, it was above par! My chicken's gone All that's left are some crumbs of gold And remembrances of strips I did hold But I'll be soon back again! So I can eat more of the crispy skin So I can eat more of the juicy chicken

So we were really excited about trying this place :( but sadly, it wasn't what we expected. The chicken was ok and so was the bread. The only thing that was good, were the chicken tenders and bbq dipping sauce with bits of black pepper. We thought this was a place we could come for for some good fried chicken.... sadly we are still looking. Lunch price was good, $4.99 everyday for 3 piece chicken tenders with a choice of side (mashed potatoes or Cole slaw) & bread and a fried chicken piece. Friendly service and chicken tenders are worth it though. But sadly, can't give this place more than 2's. The quest for some good fried chicken continues. (Sigh)

My family has been patronizing the original Donahoo's location for decades. They finally opened this franchise here in La Puente, ten minutes from my house. They bread their chicken and cook it right in front of you, so you know it's fresh. It's always delicious, never too many spices. Fast staff. Great place.

I found this place on yelp while searching for food one night on the way to Vineland drive in. OMG the food was so good. I got the chicken strip family meal. I love their fries and the dinner rolls are so good. And the chicken sauce dipping sauce was quite amazing! I recommend this place if you're ever near it!

Who doesn't love fried chicken. Sorry vegans/vegetarians, but I think you are missing out. They served "broasted" chicken, which is pressurized fried chicken. It takes longer to prepare (be sure to call in your order) and the taste speaks for itself. Anyway, the real star here is the sauce. The house special chicken sauce (some form of that name) takes the show here. Sorta like a dumpling sauce meets ponzu sauce. Just try it. It strays from the conventional ketchup/Louisiana hot sauce, but I think it works. The restaurant is owned by Asians, so don't be surprised with their asian influenced sauces. And of course they serve boba. I personally haven't tried it, but this is the only establishment that serves boba on this side of the tracks. The bread rolls are ok - get it if you really need a carb to go along with your friend chicken. It already comes with butter slabbed in the middle. The mashed potatoes are typical. The coleslaw on the other hand, is a tad different. It's a bit on the sweeter side and comes with gold raisins. Try it and be the judge. They have some pretty good deals and specials so be sure to ask for those. Overall, I think this is a pretty legit place. Those who don't like it can stick with KFC, Church's, or Popeye's. Personally, I would choose fresh over processed.

Chicken has a good flavor as well as the mash potatoes. The bread in the other hand is not good . Overall a good quick snack to grab

I've been to the location in Pomona on Garey. Was looking forward to trying this location out as it is very close to home (10-15 minutes). Not sure if it was me, but wasn't real thrilled with it. I had a 2 wings and fries with roll. Now I see what other posters meant about the taste. Don't remember them being so blah and I am a bread type of chick. The chicken was already cooked and was so so. It was warm not hot and I could tell it had been sitting for a minute. Not sure if I'll give it another try.

Great chicken tenders, great sides. I'm not a huge fan of the rolls but the rest more than make up for it. The restaurant itself is mainly takeout only (two small tables) so have another place to sit and eat ready.

I found this place on Yelp as i was driving by on the freeway. With so many reviews and such a high score i had to try it. The restaurant is in the hood and kind of small. Besides that everything else about this place is awesome! The chicken is sooo good and really hot when they give it to you. The fries and huge warm roll are amazing all on their own. The sauces they have are all really good! I couldn't decide what sauce to get when i was there so i got them all. Im glad i did because they were all delicious! If you like fried chicken you'll definitely love this place. I highly recommend Chicken n Roll to everyone! Check them out if your in the area. You wont be disappointed. Your Welcome in advance.

This place is actually pretty good. I have been going to Donahoo's in Pomona where the taste is a little better zestier and better, however, I just notice that this place uses less salt which is ok by me. The management and workers at this place are really nice as well as the place is overall very clean INSIDE. The outside looks meh. I also made sure to get a boba drink that was only $1.99 because it was Saturday. I really liked how nice everyone was and the overall taste of the chicken, fries, and buttered rolls. I was happy with this place. I will state that if you like a lot of spices and somewhat salty fried chicken, this is not the place for you. Donahoo's is great, but I can definitely taste the spices and salt used in their recipe. This place is great for people that have heart issues like me.

This place does fried chicken right. The location is kind of hard to find, but well worth it. It is in very small strip mall without much parking. Also, if you plan on eating there, forget about it; they have about two tables and four chairs, take it to go! The chicken itself is fantastic. I have never been to the original place in Pomona but this place does it right. The prices are super reasonable, the portions are great, and the bread rolls are fantastic.

I love this place! Way better then kfc or Popeye! I drive from Alhambra to get food from here

This place is legit. I like the chicken it's good they give big portions and the employees are super nice. The boba drinks are good too.

Damn good chicken! It's tender, moist and very flavorful. Besides they have the biggest dinner rolls I've ever seen and it comes with the meal!

Decided to try something new for dinner before a movie. Been eyeing this chicken spot that use to be a pizza place. Got the 4pc chicken tenders. Super tender. Try the buffalo sauce with it. There is variety off sauces to choose from. Haven't tried their hot wings but I'll be back.

    (5)
  • Jenny V.

Chicken tenders are pretty good and pretty comparable to Donahoo's, but the biscuits aren't as soft and buttery. I tasted the wintermelon lemon tea with amber jelly and pudding caramel iced milk with boba, which weren't anything special. Nice staff. Small spot, so there are only 2 small tables available for dine-in (4 people).

My husband always get their chicken roll n great sauce here it's relish fresh n as good or better than Kentucky !!:))

    (4)
  • Jeffrey W.

This is one of those bookmarks that I totally forgot I was close to and never tried. Walking in you see all the accolades on the wall and the history behind the restaurant. I ordered the four piece combo with coleslaw which automatically comes with fries and a fresh roll. Girl behind the counter was really nice and patient with me and guide me through the process. Now I cook fried chicken and always look for places that I can go to in a pinch...well this ain't it. Just about my whole meal was freshly made with the exception of...you guessed it the chicken. I really can't say much because this place has a serious following. But I can speak for my own taste and say simply put I have had better.

    (3)
  • Norlyn C.

The rolls and chicken tenders were really fresh and hot. However, the breading on the tenders was kind of bland. The sauces didn't taste that great either. It's okay, but nothing to write home about.

    (3)
  • Mario N.

Well I was hoping to give this place 5 stars, being that I love donahoos in Pomona. I can say the place was very clean which is awesome, but the fries were undercooked and gave us a stomach ache! The chicken tenders were pretty good, but not quite donahoos. It probably deserves an extra star but because my expectations were higher only 2 stars.

    (2)
  • Denise R.

So disgusted right now! I ordered a boba drink and when I took a drink from it out comes a long black hair!!!! Ugh I tell the girl and she looks at me like and, then she tells the guy about it and he immediately tells her to make me another drink, she does and just says here you go, no sorry about that nothing! So rude!!!

  • Morgan K.

Very very impressed after eating their chicken. The place just opened and you can see all the employees are still getting the procedures right but as for the chicken, it was right on target! Hot, crusty, crispy and full of flavor! They also have homemade rolls that they add a sliver of butter in to make it taste "oh so good"!

Passing by this place almost everyday, finally made a stop to try it out after hearing so much good stuff about this place. Ive never been to the original Donahoos, but the fried chicken didnt impress much. The flavor reminded me of those old Swanson TV dinners. The chicken was fresh, but seems like it needs some marinade or brine, the breading gets soggy fairly quick, light crunch batter with a light sweet taste to it. The dinner rolls were ok, they were huge, i thought he gave me two, but it was just one humongous one split in the middle with butter. Mash and gravy tasted like those instant ones from the market. The guy working was friendly and helpful, although the not washing hands after handling money is a little gross. Restaurant is tiny, most pick-up orders, clean place. i'll prob stop by here every once in a while for a quick lunch since im frequently on Valley Blvd.

  • Laura R.

This place is so good. Well so far I've had the chicken tenders, fries, mashed potatoes and those wonderful rolls. I'd go every day if I had the chance and I need to try the fried chicken.

The chicken reminded me of broasted, if you can understand a taste sensation which is dry and juicy. Food: The chicken had a unique skin, the breading was crunchy, crumb like sprinkles of a light batter. A coating thicker than the Southern fried chicken but not as thick as Pioneer Chicken. The flavor is one which will appeal the foodies that dig the late 70's, early 80's style of crunchy, well-seasoned fried chicken, yes, it is a bit salty. Chicken strips were soft, moist, not crunchy, a little heat to them. I rate them as ok, depends on how you prefer a chicken strip. The rolls were loved by everyone in my family, they are thick, appear fresh from first sight. I usually prefer softer rolls, but people who love thick and hearty may love these. Area: No seating inside. On a part of Valley which is crowded and noisy and sometimes peaceful and quite. Price: About the same price as KFC or Pioneer Chicken. Strips are a dollar if you buy 10, dark meat is cheaper. For $25, I left with 12 pieces of dark meat, 4 strips, one side and 4 rolls. Parking/etc: Ample parking, small parking, barber shop next door, near the 605/60, gas stations. Service: On this Friday night, a friendly young lady was very pleasant. The gentleman there was very informative. Summary: The type of fried that this chicken is, is something my Mother absolutely loved. I have about 10 fried chicken places I prefer, but, I like this one too, and I enjoyed the taste tonight. I need to go back and compare their taste a second and third time. It is so fried, fried and lovely. If you are in La Puente, you may wanna give it a try. Song parody of Tal Bachman's 1999 song "She's So High" youtube.com/watch?v=_ElO… It's flesh, skin and bone No touch of silicone I like the smell, sight, taste, and sound I can so clearly see, poultry style in action My family wants some more, I can hear them clapping It's so fried Fried and crunchy Taste so lovely It's so fried Like Chester Chicken, Pioneer, had just collided It's so fried Fried and crunchy La Puente, now has poultry Nice and extra salty Cole slow, fries and everything Check out the wall to see, any discount offers When chicken is fried like this I wanna spend my dollars It's so fried Fried and crunchy Taste so lovely It's so fried Like Chester Chicken, Pioneer, had just collided It's so fried Fried and crunchy Those rolls soft indeed More carbs than a tree The texture, taste is so unreal I can so clearly see, poultry style in action My family wants some more, I can hear them clapping It's so fried Fried and crunchy Taste so lovely It's so fried Like Chester Chicken, Pioneer, had just collided It's so fried Fried and crunchy

5 stars for the chicken. Add spicy chicken and overall is 5. Just had the chicken. No rolls for this low carber. Okay, if I had a day to live and a last meal, it would be perfectly seasoned Tennessee hot chicken. But for now, I will take any yummy fried chicken within 30 minutes of my house. So I yelped as I always do, and there it was: Chicken N Roll. Should have called beforehand because it took about 20 minutes. But it was worth it. Chicken wasn't fatty yet succulent and breading was thin, crispy and seasoned well. Please consider spicy chicken. I am pretty certain that it will go well for the local palates. If you had the spicy variety, I'd be down for the drive at least twice a month. It beats flying to Nashville.

    (4)
  • Todd T.

Always a consistent player when we go to the drive ins. Try to call in an order if you don't want to wait or your running late to the movies. Also, they only have generic hot sauce so bring your own red rooster if you like to keep it spicy. Be patient since they fry larger orders to go

  • Steve V.

The fried chicken was excellent! Very crisp and moist. At first I wasn't too excited about the rolls because I prefer biscuits but they were fresh, buttery and delicious. I wasn't too impress with their homemade hot sauce but good thing I got my trusty Louisiana Hot Sauce, a must with fried chicken. This place gets 5 stars for the great taste & quality at a very reasonable price point.

    (5)
  • Iris P.

The fact that they remove the fat from the chicken is good enough for me! My friends got a 3 piece meal and it was delicious and the pieces were HUGE! I got the 4 piece chicken tenders meal with fries and I could not finish it myself. You can definitely get full and satisfied under 10 bucks. Place is pretty small, only has 2 tables for 2 people in there so larger parties for eat in is probably not a good idea. I'll be back for my fried chicken fix :)

  • Charles T.

They said that they have the best chicken strips in town. Lie. Carl's Jr. have better chicken. Their strips were dry and powdery. Their rolls looked like softballs and almost tasted like softballs too. Ordered a six piece meal? They'll give you one tiny container of sauce. Check in for a free drink? Sure. But be careful, it'll taste real sour. But they have over 200 positive Yelp reviews... at this other place in Pomona where they get their chicken from. Seriously? Never been to a place where they praise another location. Fail. Never coming back to this location.

  • Van D.

We came here just because Church's had such a long line... and we didn't want to wait. Sure the chicken was breaded and made right in front of you, the chicken meat was mushy and there wasn't any taste. Generally, when you get fried chicken from one of the many franchise such as Church's or KFC or even Popeyes, the smell of the fried chicken would immediately overwhelm your car. This wasn't the case for Chicken and Roll. The chicken didn't even feel hot. Their roll had a strong yeast taste. We also ordered the chicken gizzard... it was hard. Ahhhh what a disappointing experience. Never coming back. Next time Church's is crowded, you'll be sure to find me waiting.

Great traditional fried chicken and nice fusion with some innovative drinks. Their fried chicken and strip are palatable and succulent. If you are sick of KFC/Popeyes chain stores and look for something amazing in local, it's a must-try.

I am very upset with the service and attitude with the people there. Seems as thou they are using the old bait and switch in one of their promotion advertisements to draw customers in. When I questioned this, they just responded, well that's just pictured but you do not get it. Shady ethics and practices, wonder how this may transfer over to food quality & cleanliness.

Lord have mercy am I in love with this place. Fried chicken and boba? I'm in. This place does it right. Their combo comes with a side, fries, and an incredibly delicious dinner roll. Prices are reasonable for what it is, and the fact that it is in my hood makes it all the better!

  • Patrick M.

How the heck did I forget to write a review on this place? It had to be because the chicken and rolls are so good here that it made me forget about everything else! Seriously people, if you want awesome chicken and oh so soft and fluffy rolls, you have to come to this place! Forget KFC, Church's, Popeyes...this place is put all of these places to shame! Just be aware: It's take out only and this place is in a tiny strip mall. So tiny, that if you're going west on Valley Blvd. you won't see that place and drive right by it! But try and find it, stop in, order some chicken. You won't be sorry!

Chicken was slightly bland. The rolls aren't as good as everyone says, but not a bad place to get a quick chicken fix at a cheap price.

I'll give this place 4 stars just because the rolls are delicious. I love a good dinner roll and these r big and fluffy with a bit of butter in the middle. I got the 4 piece chicken tenders combo which consisted of 4 piece boneless chicken tenders, 1 side (I chose fries), 1 big roll, 1 drink, and 1 small dipping sauce of ur choice. After tax it was $7.29. Everything was ok and pretty basic except for the roll. The ranch they have here isn't that good, tastes like a fat free generic type ranch. If it wasn't for the roll I would have given this place 3 stars.

So I'm barely doing my taxes....not good! Got hungry and decided to try this place next door to my tax guy. Overall I liked their tenders, pretty tasty. I'd go again!

Something wrong with this place. It looked good with a 70 year history and promoting it to be top 10 in LA Weekly for Fried Check, however very disappointed with the over all taste of everything. The Chicken was mushy if that is the word to put on the texture of the meat (warmish cold). The skin seems like a KFC knock off with not much taste. The Giant rolls don't make sense its not soft or tasty, seems like it was reheated. Coleslaw was to watery and a little weird with rasins, mash potato was a little runny but the Gravy was great in taste. I am a fried chicken lover and this was big disappointment, it is close to my work so I was hoping this would be my go to place. Hope it makes some drastic change. My partner threw everything away after one bite. So thirsty after eating this place and writing this review.

Super affordable chicken tenders! When I just want to grub out and not make a dent in my wallet here's the place to!

The fried chicken and tenders are good. The "butt" buns are my kids favorite. This isn't a "broke da mouth" kind of place but it's consistently good. If you're in the mood for fried chicken, then come on by. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Note that they do not take credit cards!!

What makes this place good is the tenderness of their chicken tenders and the house sauce. No flavor in the chicken by itself but that's why you need the sauce! It's amazing how soft and tender the chicken is.

Chicken done right. Just as good as the og location in Pomona, Donahoo's. Located in a small corner near a barber shop and tax office. Get your hair and taxes done while having great chicken. Can't beat that haha

I really don't get what the hype is all about at this place. Sure their chicken tenders are well seasoned but their chicken is pretty dry. I wished I asked for more honey mustard to go with my 6 piece meal. The coleslaw is just minced up cabbage and onions that ends up looking like relish in a cup. Their rolls are okay but does have a strong yeast taste and is more dense (and not shaped like) regular dinner rolls. It's nice that they give you a free house drink for free when you check in but I'm not going to come back to this place. There are better places around.

This place is the best thing to happen to chicken since steroid injections. The chicken is juicy not greasy and packed with flavor. All the sides are up to par, mashed potatoes blew my &@&$ off. I have been to the Pomona location and this place is no different. Try all the dipping sauces. I am docking a star because there is limited seating.

Amazing chicken tenders and drinks. So good I had it 2 nights in a row. Chicken is super tender and the batter is delicious! They have great dipping sauces and yummy sides! Everything is super reasonable in price and I'm so happy to have found this gem near where I work. Definitely going to be coming to this spot at least once a month.

People always say they have the best something... best Wings or best tacos for best steak. so when I saw the sign at chicken n roll "best tenders" I was a little skeptical. Add in the fact that it's a small place off of Valley and it doesn't speak best anything. But I couldn't have been any more mistaken. the chicken strips really are just about the best I've ever had. no kidding they really are that good. the people are super friendly and the role was fresh homemade and delicious as well. don't look at the outside just go in, order your food and you'll be happy you did.

Not as good and fresh as the Donahoo's in Pomona. The chicken breading was thinner and not as savory. The rolls were were stale and not warm!! If you are use to the Donahoo's in Pomona, you will be disappointed. I guess if I want the real thing, I've got to go to P-Town.

I ordered the chicken strips meal, it was delicious. The yeast roll they give you is really big and the chicken is very moist. I ordered the coleslaw as a side and it was very good.

Yesterday my boyfriend wanted to get fried chicken, but not KFC. Not knowing of any other places I decided to look to yelp for some answers. Low and behold, Chicken N Roll was there with awesome reviews. Only a few minutes away from my home, we decided to give it a shot. I believe we have now found our new go to place for fried chicken! There was a small wait for our order, but I didn't mind, especially since the awesome young woman at the front gave us a few chicken tenders to try while we waited, and she also kindly reminded us as we left that we can always call in ahead of time next time so we wouldn't have to wait. Our order ended up being a 10 piece dark meat combo with four rolls and a side. We went with mashed potatoes and gravy. I also didn't think that four rolls would be enough, but my goodness! The size of these rolls were so astonishing! And they're baked fresh every day ! They're each cut down the middle and slabbed with a bit of butter. And each roll is so big that it can easily be split into two. The chicken was so tender and the flavor of the breading was awesome! Pleasantly surprised and will definitely be coming back ! And just a quick fact, it's actually the first franchise of Donahoo's chicken, which my boyfriend and his family are a huge fan of.

The chicken is damn good, the pieces are bigger than KFC and the chicken tenders are beyond awesome. Order a side of Mac n cheese and the Coleslaw had a different kick to it which made it different but good compared to the chain Chicken establishments. Their rolls are good too, remember to call ahead cause it takes a few minutes to make food because the chicken is made when ordered not premade.

hands down best chicken tenders I have ever had. the price makes it even better. friendly staff is the icing on the cake. chicken is moist and meaty. the breading is well seasoned. the crunch is amazing. many people love the huge rolls they have but I think they are just OK. sides are a bit bland but that's not what we come for.

3.5 stars. Been waiting for a chicken place like this to come to the area for I don't know how long. Chicken was perfectly seasoned, moist and nice and crispy. Hope they're able to stay in business.
